Harmful and Unnecessary: Stop Attack on Trans Student Athletes

As an organization, we firmly believe that all children deserve to enjoy being children, and we work to defend and protect the joy of growing up for all children and youth, especially those most marginalized.
That is why, this week, CDF-Ohio submitted testimony urging the House Primary and Secondary Education committee to remove extremely harmful language to enact the Save Women’s Sports Act inserted into HB 151.
“The Ohio High School Athletic Association already has a policy in place regarding trans youth in sports in Ohio,” stated Senior Policy Associate, Alison Paxson, in testimony. “Given this and the fact that only 9 trans Ohio students in 5 years have been impacted by this policy, these provisions are as inherently harmful as they are unnecessary.”
