Alison Paxson serves as Policy Fellow at Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio.
This is not her first time working with CDF – Alison is also a former Student Leader Intern (SLI) with the University District Freedom Schools program in Columbus, Ohio. She has prior experience in policy research and advocacy in various roles in and outside of Columbus, including as a policy associate for the Ohio Democratic Party and as an Urban Leaders Fellow in New Orleans, Louisiana. Following her graduation from The Ohio State University in 2013, Alison served two years in the AmeriCorps program, City Year, as a team leader, mentor and tutor in Columbus City Schools. She draws inspiration from the many students who have touched her life during those years of service in grounding herself in her work to powerfully advocate on behalf of children, especially those most marginalized and vulnerable.
